Description
In Greece sage is self-sowed and grows in mountainous and rocky areas. It’s scientific name “salvia” comes from the Latin word “salvare”, meaning salvage-healing. It is widely used as a hot drink for its antibacterial, antimicrobial, disinfectant, antispasmodic, anticancer and antioxidant properties. Treats excessive sweating, indigestion, inflammation of the mouth and throat, and nervous disorders. As seasoning, it is used in many Greek recipes, as it accompanies a wide variety of meat as well as salad-based potatoes
